A defining moment in my AI journey

Some moments do more than mark a milestone. They bring your direction into sharper focus.

Meeting Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, at DevDay 2025 was one of those moments for me. As someone working at the intersection of AI-driven development, software quality, and dependable product delivery, the experience connected the technology I build with the larger vision shaping our industry.

From AI potential to engineering responsibility

The future of software is not simply about adding intelligence to products. It is about designing systems that can reason, adapt, and accelerate human work while remaining reliable enough to earn trust.

That challenge is especially meaningful in the environments where I work. AI systems still need thoughtful architecture, strong evaluation, secure delivery practices, and quality engineering that continues long after a prototype looks impressive.

The conversation that stayed with me

Discussing the future of AI-driven development and its impact on software reliability reinforced a principle I keep returning to: innovation and quality cannot be separate tracks.

The most valuable AI products will be the ones that move beyond demonstrations and perform consistently in the real world. They will need engineers who can connect product ambition with production discipline—testing behavior, observing failures, managing risk, and improving the system continuously.

What I carried forward

I left the experience even more committed to building intelligent engineering solutions that are useful, resilient, and ready for meaningful work.

For me, that means continuing to explore autonomous testing, AI-assisted development, evaluation systems, and the quality foundations required to ship dependable software. The tools will keep evolving. The responsibility to build them well remains constant.

This photo captures a brief meeting, but the moment represents something larger: the conviction to keep learning, keep building, and help turn the promise of AI into systems people can actually rely on.
